Rabindra Dhungel, 27 August 2020. Spokesperson of the Government of Nepal and Finance Minister Dr. Yuvraj Khatiwada has clarified that the government has not re-appointed Kulman Ghising as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
Looking at the issues that have been coming up on social media for some time now, Khatiwada said, “Kulman may have been appointed by social media but not by the government.” The government did not know about the appointment made through social media.
He said, “There is no formal proposal in the cabinet about Kulman.” There has been no discussion about that. ‘
He said that the social media has appointed the executive director of the Electricity Authority but the government has not made any decision. In response to a question from journalists at a program organized to make the decision of the Council of Ministers public on Thursday, Minister Khatiwada spoke about the government’s decision.
Kulman’s tenure is coming to an end on September 13. After this, the majority of the people have demanded re-appointment for another term. But just a few days ago, the social media was abuzz saying that the government had re-appointed Kulman. Spokesperson Khatiwada has clarified the same issue.
