KP-Prachanda meeting proved meaningless

The conversation between KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairpersons of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), have also been fruitless.
According to a Baluwatar source, the meeting held in Baluwatar with senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal and parliamentary party deputy leader Subash Nemwang was positive but ended without any consensus.

The two presidents had a discussion at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday evening to resolve the dispute within the party.
Tuesday’s meeting did not yield any concrete results. Although the leaders offered to hold a standing committee meeting, Oli refused. The meeting ended after Oli did not agree to hold a meeting of the standing committee.

Prachanda’s senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal and Oli’s parliamentary party deputy leader Subash Nemwang have been holding discussions every day for the past three days. Despite discussions among the leaders, no agreement has been reached.

Despite discussions between the two leaders, no agreement has been reached to hold a meeting of the Standing Committee that has been postponed since Shrawan 6.

Before meeting Oli, Prachanda had consulted with Vice President Bamdev Gautam on Tuesday morning.

The standing committee meeting that started on Asad 10 , has been postponed several times due to disputes within the CPN .
