India officially states that Buddha was born in Nepal.

India has once again officially clarified that Lord Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a press conference on Sunday that there was no dispute that Buddha was born in Nepal.

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said in a program on Saturday that Buddha was a great Indian.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has clarified that Jaishankar’s statement was about the Buddhist heritage but not about Gautam Buddha.

“There is no dispute that Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal,” the Indian foreign ministry said.
