Extreme levels of flood danger in Province 1: 16 deaths, many missing.

As many as 16 people have been killed and 11 others are missing due to floods and lightning this year.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, the deceased have been identified as Prashant Rai alias Madan of Sankhuwasabha Silingchong Gaonpalika-1, Ram Kerung of Chulchuli-5 Ilam, Jita Rai of Arun-2 Bhojpur, Anjana Limbu of Myanglung-6 Tehrathum and Vived Darnal of Mechinagar-9 Jhapa. , Bhadrapur-2 Jhapa resident Ankush Tamang, Karan Thami and Arjun Thami, Sunvarshi-6 and 5 resident Nritakala Kevarat and Mahadevlal Kevarat, Makalu-2 Sankhuwasabha resident Nima Sherpa, Bhadrapur-2 Jhapa resident Kumar Gajmer, Miklakhola-5 Taplejung resident Saugat Rai and Ramdhuni-7 Sunsari residents Deepesh Limbu and Mandeep Limbu.

According to Kamal Bahadur Thapa, Deputy Secretary at the Ministry, Deepesh and Mandeep were killed by landslides, floods and trees.

Similarly, Uttar Kumari Rai, Najmaya Rai, Hastakumar Rai, Angela Rai, Namrata Rai, Gorimaya Rai, Prakriti Rai, Juddha Bahadur Rai Mane, Harkraj Rai, Aitmaya Rai and Ramman Rai of Sankhuwasabha of Silingchong-1 have gone missing. According to Deputy Secretary Thapa, they went missing in a landslide on July 12 due to heavy rains.
